The Pentagon:
(1) Positive Statement: What positive thing happen as a result of what you have completed so far?:

That many people in the voice acting community are all nice and are always willing to help anyone who needs it!

(2) EQ Content:  Pick a piece of research or your interview.  How has it helped you improve your understanding of your topic?:

In my interview with Dino Andrade, I was interested when he brought up the history of voice acting and what it meant to him, being in the voice acting community. It was interesting to know just how passionate he was about being where he is and how it all started. It helped my understand because I got a glimpse of what he thought and his view on how voice acting came to be.

(3) What has worked for you so far in the senior project?:

Convenient planning for flaky interviewees is all I can really say at the moment.

(4) What hasn't worked so far?:

Putting trust in one person for an interview. Gotta back lots of backups!

(5) Finding Value:  Based on your experience so far,

  •  What possible question or questions come to mind regarding what you would like to studythis year (don't list questions about the instructions relating to the senior project)?:
    • How much experience until you can land a big role in the field?
    • How much training is recommended before you can get started?
  •  What is your end goal this year with your senior project (don't say get a good grade or gain knowledge, put specific things you want to accomplish in your senior project this year):
    • To land a headstart in the voice acting community
  • Who would you like to talk to you next? Why?:
    • Possibly the voice actors in FUNimation. They're in charge of the whole place and the way they work and get along is completely astounding. It is also the place I wish to work at in the future.

Problem Statement

1)Voice Acting
2) People think it's easy. Once the problem is solved, people would respect the field and notice how hard the actors are working to try to make the voices perfect for their character.
3) Some people can't vary their voices. If there are varied types voices that a person can make, it would make finding a voice for a character a lot easier.

1.  Who do you plan to interview?  Why?
I plan on interviewing Richard Epcar. The reason I chose Epcar was because he was referred to me by Brian Dowdle and he's been helping me for a while. He also referred to Bang Zoom Entertainment and has also been into voice acting for a long number of years. I hope to learn more about it and the people inside and, hopefully, find more people to have as a mentor.

2.  You have to ask 5 questions.  What additional questions do you plan to ask?

- What is the enviornment like when working with people if you work in a group?
- Is there a lot of pressure when working with a short time span? Any tips?
- How much involved are the managers, ADR director, and production manager with what you do?

Blog 2; Topic Choice

a.  My topic is voice acting management. I chose this because I've always wanted to get into the voice acting field. Since the whole community is hard to get into, I've decided get into the management side of it so that I could learn how to be more efficient and responsible. It is also another part of the voice acting community that I have recently began to take an interest in.
b.

  • iPoly Citizen:  It helps me have better communication with other people. This relates to the me improving as a iPoly citizen because I could become a better part of the school to participate in school events and help out with Senior plans.
  • Effective Communicator:  I plan to learn patience and responsibility when within a group. This will make me more effective as a learner because I can learn to get along with the people I'm working with and leading people to get group work done.
  • Effective Learner:  I plan to learn how to become more responsible from my mentor. This will make me more effective as a learner because I was always shaky and seemed to have kept on straying from what needed to be done. I hope to become more efficient so I could become more responsible with my tasks and projects.
  • Effective User of Technology: I plan to find my research online and a lot from my mentor. This will make me more effective as a user of technology because I can find out how people do things differently and become more proficient in using other word documents and excel to help set up appointments and other things.
